Coach Monroe initially came to LKNC as the boy's basketball coach for their first season. In addition to coaching, he now also serves as the Director of Athletics and the Physical Education teacher.

Rodney is a native of Hagerstown, Maryland and has lived in Huntersville for almost 3 years. He and his wife Judith have been married for 15 years and have three boys, Myles 12, Madison 10, and Christian 5. Rodney accepted a scholarship to North Carolina State University where he holds several records including all-time leading scorer. He played professionally in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks and throughout Europe for over 14 years.

Rodney and his family are partners at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius. Today, Rodney finds great joy and fulfillment sharing his God given talents with children of all ages and serving the Lord through LKNC and the surrounding communities.

His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13.
