Mrs. King is a native of Mooresville, NC. She has been married to her high-school sweetheart , Brent, for 17 years. They have two daughters, Olivia, 12 and Chloe, 9. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1993 and has taught Kindergarten through 2nd grade for 9 years. She taught 2nd grade at Huntersville Christian Academy for 3 years.

She and her family are members of Mooresville First Baptist Church where she has been involved in the Children's Choir ministry. She enjoys singing at church, scrapbooking, reading, going to the movies, and watching her children in their many activities.

Her desire is to "create an inviting climate for learning using developmentally appropriate curriculum that challenges students to excel while developing a strong sense of community and Christ-like character that honors God and others". She also wants her students to know that they are loved and are "fearfully and wonderfully made". She is so glad to be a part of the LKNC family.

One of her favorite Bible verses is "I will call on Him as long as I live." Psalm 116:2 NIV
